Sherri Fairley is a talented musician who grew up in a musical family, traveling and singing throughout the Midwest. From a young age, she has been passionate about music, performing in church choirs, school choirs, and musicals such as "Bye, Bye Birdie" and "Brigadoon". Her love for singing has been a constant in her life, and she continues to share her musical gifts with others.
"The songs I have written were birthed out of very personal experiences. For instance, the song “You are Protected“ was written for my daughter, Rachel, who, when she was a child, was scared of the dark. I would sing this song to her at night so she wouldn’t be afraid, knowing that God had His angels watching over her.
One of my most recent songs, "What a Beautiful Morning”, came to me as I was welcoming people into the church. I had forgotten my phone that day, and had to borrow my husband’s phone so that I could record the song. I only had the chorus written, but a couple of weeks later I woke up with the first verse on my mind. A week later, I woke up with the second verse completed.
“Don’t Talk” was written out of frustration from hearing people who are supposed to be Christians talk about frivolous things. Although it is okay to talk about topics other than God; the majority of our conversations should be uplifting, encouraging, and about God.
These are some of the personal stories about how a few of the songs were written on my debut album, Created To Praise."
